I'm looking to clean up the handlebars on my SR build and would like your recommendation and advice on an aftermarket throttle tube. For now I'm still running the stock carb, and my cables work just fine. I realize if I go the Mikuni VM route sometime in the future I'll have to buy new matching cable and throttle tube, but for now I'd like one that works with the stocker. Thanks!

Look at Kedo parts. They have throttle tubes for single slide and flat slide carbys. POSH brand are dedicated Japanese made parts for the SR and XT. I have had no issues with them and did the same with my flat slide Mikuni VM34 carby.

Fair enough, if you can tap it will save you a bit. Plus that is another thing the SR owner is, they do all the work themselves and make things work. Won't say anything about cheap, as that is reserved for Kawasaki KLR riders lol. Which I am as well.
