Hi All, New to the forum but not to motorcycles. I have an '80 SR500 (that I've had for a couple of years now) and it will be my winter project for a total refurbishment (pending parts availability) including wire wheel conversion (which I have all the appropriate parts).
I plan on keeping it somewhat stock looking with new paint and powdercoating. The handlebars and foot controls will be changed out for clip-ons/clubmans and rearsets (cafe look). For the exhaust I'll be using a new headpipe with a BSA Goldstar silencer and want to go to a Mikuni VM for carburetion.
The rest of my stable includes a '97 Ducati 900 SS/SP (with FCRs), a '98 Ducati 750 Monster, 3 single cam Honda 750s (K1,K2 & K5), and a '76 Honda 550K.
I'm really glad to see a forum specific to the SR500 and look forward to participating.
BTW, I'm 50yo and live in Michigan.
