Sorry not sure if this is the right place for this question. So I bought a aftermarket Speedo....now the speed is reading approximately 10 KMs higher, as the sr is a mechanical Speedo and I'm new to this I gathered it would just plug and play, now I'm learning of ratios, does anyone know what ratio I would need, and if the Daytona one they recommend is on point, any help would be much appreciated

I can't help you there. I thought all Japanese mechanical speedometers were 5-6 mph off. Clocks look good but a big LED readout and the speed programmed to your tire circumference is pretty nice.

So the Speedo I got is in KMs and it's a 1:4 ratio which they say is common for the sr, I don't need to convert it to mphs, so I tried another one last night and that read higher, 50kms shows I'm doing 70ish KMs, same deal eBay Chinese made, and here is the link for the Daytona one, vanem.com.au/speedometer-140km-h-60mm-led-lit-black-w-trip-meter-15621/ thanks for your help guys it's much appreciated

Also I have the 18" front wheel, and am I correct in thinking that if its showing a faster speed then I'd probably need a 1:2 ratio mechanical Speedo, good I hate maths.

You reminded me. My 2015 factory speedo (18" wheel) is about 10 mph over at 70 mph. Doing the math makes my head hurt.

You've bought Chinese off brand, which you've found to be a mistake. I have no experience of this particular Speedo from Daytona, but they are a well known brand and the Daytona spares I have used are good quality. It may need nothing more than plug and play without any head scratching over ratios. After all the Daytona description states it suits the SR. Why not make sure there is a returns policy if it too reads inaccurately, then dive in and try it?

Hey guys, thanks so much for your input and it's much appreciated. So I bought the Daytona speedometer, just went for a ride with my phone cable tied to the bike 🤣, ran waze and maps both read 58kmhs to the speedo's 60kmhs, that's pretty much the go through to 80kmhs, so it's two under constant, which is same as my car, so happy.lesson learnt never again. Cool forum

I wonder what it would read with a 19" wheel.

Or just a taller profile front tire; it is the rolling circumference to fine tune. On one of mine I went to the next 'size up'; ie, a 110/19 vs the oem 90/19 and got the speedo to pretty closly match my Garmin.
