My bike is currently set up for Bonneville (basically engine wise as I road raced it) and will run in the m-cg 500 class (modified frame, classic gas, 500cc) The class allows head rake changes as well as wheel base increases up to 10% greater than stock with no streamlining. Bike has to be 1980 or earlier or later years if identical. Engine must be normally aspirated running on meet supplied race gas.
My ultimate goal is the build the bike for the supercharged fuel class. Anyone have experience with supercharging or methanol/nitro fuel? Been inspired by the WORLDS FASTEST VELOCETTE which has gone 193 mph!!! All from a 650 cc pushrod single running on fuel with partial streamlining. I've seen several supercharged SR 500/400 bikes online and it looks like a neat experiment. I have purchased a new AISIN AMR 300 supercharger as my starting point. It is a twin lobe Roots type unit. Dirt cheap on ebay. Was originally built for 600cc minicars in Japan and Asia I think for Suzuki and Toyota cars.

Goodluck with the project although its a million miles over the top for my taste especially at 70 years young !!
I'm sure there are a few members on here who will share the go faster bug with you. Let us all know what you finally achieve .
How many years has it been since you dragged the pipes and pegs? I used to need rearsets, not any more.
I'm enjoying riding as much as ever red even though it's a bit more sedate these days . If theres anything I'd like to improve it's my slow riding/balance technique, regular riding helps a lot I find. While I'm on, a big shout out for Gcrank,he's had sh*t luck with an unfortunate spill recently and the consequences are he's took time out to get the body right. Without going on it makes me think that 1. Take it easy and 2. Be lucky [easier said than done !]. Andy

Thanx Andy, 11wks out and am able to take a hold of the things of life that need doing but with some twinges yet. Dont think I could ever be at ease with running at speed anymore, the 'what ifs' are always present. Time was that the OPs notion of running the flats to see what my old SR could really do had interested me, our long straights with no patrols are few and far from safe. Fast4, that sounds like high intensity work all around! Should keep you busy for a fair bit
