Beginning resto after parked 25 years!

I have a 1981 SR 500 that I bought in 1981 and rode for a bunch of years. It’s been in my garage for decades. We had a flood and water got up about 2 1/2 feet some 25 years ago. Don’t know what I’ll find when I start working on it. Maybe the water didn’t hurt to much, but we’re going to find out. I want to get it running again and ride it some. I parked it because I was having problems with the solid-state magneto. I replaced it once in 2000, but it didn’t last long. I’ve hung onto this motorcycle all this time because it’s such a great bike. Excited to be here!

Where are you at?
Did that water get high enough to go through the carb?
