Hello, my first post from Sunny Suffolk East Anglia, its probably in the wrong place but here goes. I have a JDM SR400 on a Mikuni BST 34 Carb which I am puzzling round. After rebuilding and re jetting I have it running a best as I can but I am stumped on one detail. There is what appears to be a breather on the top of the carb body, this has a fuel pipe that threads over the air box to nowhere, is this a breather or should it be connected to the spigot on the manifold which currently is blocked off with the usual fuel pipe, bolt in the end clamp etc. I have manual fuel tap on the the tank, off/res/on so no vacuum. Little to no details on these carbs in the UK except for the odd exploded diagram and most the old boys I know have never worked on one. Any knowledge welcome. Attachments:

Probably no point whatsoever answering this post but if anyone else needs this info, it is a breather and is routed correctly as you describe, over the air box.
