Greetings to all from Richmond, VA Got my first SR500 in 1979 at the tender age of 25. Sold it 1 yr later for down payment on the purchase of my first home. That was it for me & motorcycles for 25 yrs. Then last Sept while walking my dog I see a neglected looking SR 500 peering out of a neighbor's garage. The excitement comes back and wouldn't go away. I knock on the door and ask to buy it on the spot. The owner says OK but to give him a day to think about it. Next day he says he can't bring himself to part with it. What is it about these SR's?? So I buy a 1981 on Ebay from Ebay dealer in Trenton, NJ. No history on the bike available. 6000 mi , original tires and very clean. The SR had still had the 1981 inspection sticker on it! Spent $900 getting it running. 10 mos and 2000 trouble free miles later, I'm riding often and having fun. The neighbor got motivated by my experience and now has his bike in ship shape. Looking forward to this Forum. thanks

Great intro srphil! You are right... these bikes strike a chord with their owners that is hard to break. Glad to hear there are two more SR's on the road. Great (and very knowledgable) bunch of SR fans here. Looking forward to hearing more from you. p.s.: Any pics of the SR? G Man
