Hi all:
I need to lengthen my cam chain. In order to adjust my compression ratio, I put in a 2.36mm cylinder head gasket, but now my original inner chain length is not enough. Does anyone know of any options or specifications I can use? I've been looking and it seems like the inner chain length for a V-Max 1200 is slightly longer, but I'm not sure if it's compatible. Are there any other options out there? Thank you for any help.
I saw on a Japanese seller that they have a lengthened cam chain for the SR400/500 that supposedly adds two links. And then, I found that the inner chain for the SR400/500 is specified as BF05M, 106L. And then, I saw on eBay that there's a BF05M, 118L, which is compatible with the V-Max 1200. I'm just wondering if the cam chain that the Japanese seller is claiming to be lengthened, is actually the same one used on the V-Max 1200. I mean, if you add two links to 106, it maybe come out to 118, which would match the one for the V-Max 1200. Just a thought.
The only thing I'm uncertain about is whether the original factory is 106L, does the 'L' stands for the length or links. If it's the length, then 118L should not be a problem, but if it's links, then 118L is definitely too long and would not work.
It's too bad communicating with the Japanese is difficult, they seem to have a dislike for a language called 'ABCD' on this earth and they can't answer any questions.
Note: I figured out that the 'L' stands for links not length. I just counted my old one, it's a 106 links, so I should consider the 108L sold by Kedo. As for the Japanese seller, I'll forget about them.
