Here's my story. It's all true.
A couple of riding buddies of mine are a father and son team. Pops used to be a full time mechanic and tuner mainly for flat-trackers. He's retired but still has his hand in the game and races a senior amatuer short-track. To do so he has put together a fleet of four SR500's - two are set up for the both of them to race, one is being set up for flat-track and one is fully stock and streetable.
His wife passed on a few months ago and he and his son have been riding around alot.
Last Sunday I was settling in for a nap and a kung fu movie (joy!) when I heard a soft but nasty rumble out of my window. Pops and Dave are parking a brand new used 2003 Bonneville (Pops) and the stock SR500.
We hang, we go out and eat and during lunch he says that he has fallen in love with the naked SV650. Having just picked up the Bonnie he has to get rid of a bike (no room in back for more) and would l like the SR500?
I have begun negotiations with She Who Must Be Obeyed And Wonders Why I Need More Than One Bike And More Than One Guitar And A PlayStation And An X-Box At The Same Time (tm, pat.pending).
Anyway, I surfed about and found this forum.
I have a bunch of questions but I got to get back to work. Will ask many stupid ones. Be patient.
Thanks,
Tommy

Thanks, Tommy Tommy, that is a fantastic story and intro! (Except for the other gentleman's loss) We are happy to have you on the SR500 Forum. Please feel free to ask any and all questions you may have. All our members are very well aquainted with the SR500. We have a very diverse group from many countries. I am sure you will enjoy the SR500 as it is a very durable machine and can be set up or built into just about any style you like. Be sure to post a pic of your bike in the photo album when you can. p.s.: Classic line describing the missus! ;D Looking forward to talking to you soon, G Man
