Hey guys, new to the community and the Board. I just bought 3 XT500's, a 79, 80 and an 81. I have looked in the maintenance manual and still can't find out how much fuel remains on reserve.
Also, it appears the bikes get somewhere between 50 and 60 mpg as far as I can tell. Is that your experience?
Also, the '80 has a Mikuni 36mm carb that I've taken apart and cleaned. It still doesn't like any choke, dies if I even look at it. That tells me it's running rich then, but playing with the mixture doesn't matter, hmmm
