I’m looking at a conversion to my TT500 for occasional flat track racing. I have sourced some Yamaha 535 Virago legs, which seem the right length, and a spindle.. but I’m wondering if I need to do this? Looking at the forks, I could slide the legs up 60mm through the yokes.
Removing, or shortening the spacers above the springs would lower the front end another 2” or so, which would be plenty, and keep the air-assisted action (my forks have valves in both caps). I need a 19” front wheel, but I need that anyway..
has anyone done this? Any thoughts?
