Hello all!
Im going to be building my own exhaust for my SR here soon.
Its gonna be pretty basic stock motor at first, but i have another motor i plan on building in the future. Obviously i plan on building the exhaust for the higher HP model.
The new motor would be mild with a 10:1 wiseco, some P&P, maybe a cam, and the custom pipe.
Now im wondering what size pipe diameters people use. It seems like the oem stuff is about 1.75". what are most aftermarket exhausts... or a better question, what should i make MY exhaust?
I have a really nice ARROW Carbon/ Ti muffler here off another bike. IT measures 1.875 ID on the pipe. Could i get away with using this and not choke the power down?
this would mean id have to use a 1.75" OD pipe like the factory for it to slide in and still use the spring tabs and such. Would this size pipe really rob me of power?
Suggestions?

Hallo Brianw,
1.75 "will be fine, if the arrow muffler is a race/sport type it probably won`t restrict the power
on my 600cc sr there is a 1.75 stainlesssteel tube used.
making exhausts is an art in itself, depending on where in the powerband you want the most power.
regards sjef
