I bought a new bike. I still have the SR, but I'll probably have to sell it some time soonish. I'd like to keep it, but now that I'm enjoying riding again (thanks, ironically, to the SR) it's just not suitable for the longer rides I'm frequently doing. . . and this particular one is too mint for me to be willing to do any genuine customising on, so she's just not filling either criteria. Once I've sold off all my excess bikes, I think I'll still get myself an older (ie: in need of some TLC) SR or even an old Triumph and set to it with the grinder and welder ;D But in the meantime, as my daily ride, I've now picked myself up a minter of an '06 XJR1300.

Bize, I was in the same position as you. Mine was a super mint '78. I did not want to carve it up to build my hot rod. So, I sold it and said I'll "just" pick up a beater to make my hot rod while I run a little more comfy bike as my main ride. Well, I still continue to search for anything remotely resembling an SR. Hard to come by up here, especially as the few I have seen were worse than mine for more money than I sold mine for... LOL!
That XJR1300 is super sweet! I sure wish we had those available here in Canada. I'd probably have one of 'em.

Sorry to hear that mate!
Let me know when you're selling the bike and how much for, and I'll let some people in Mexico know.

There is a moral to the story . When you sell a SR you will always regret it so don't do it (they fit well in any motorcycle collection) I'm contemplating selling one at the moment but I don't know if I can actually go through with it?But I know what you mean about doing heaps of Ks on SRs & a XJ or a GSX would be good for those long open roads that becon around here thats for sure cheers Dave.

They weren't released in Canada? Yeah, I'm just riding too much, for too long a distance now to keep the SR as my daily ride. Over here, if you're patient there's always an SR500 popping up for sale and with all these 400s being imported, maybe soon there'll be crappy 400s on the market. . . Having said that, a late 60s Triumph with the unit engine aren't that scarse over here and I'd still like to get my hands on one of them for a project. Oh yeah. . . I finally got to take her home today (it was raining of course)
