I am hopefully getting my tank back in the next few days ;D
As it has been repaired, resprayed and generally made good again I am keen to make sure there are no "nasties" lurking in there that will clog up the filters.
What is the best way of cleaning and flushing the inside prior to filling her up? I guess water isn't the way to go.....

I 'll assume that your tank is steel. You can fill half full with a diluted solution of phosphoric acid (Naval rust remover) some dish soap, water and a few hundred BB's. Shake vigorously for a few minutes (maybe longer, just depends) and rinse with lots of fresh water. Empty and drive the moisture out with WD-40 or similar.
Always run a fuel filter.
