I pulled the front brake calliper of the sr recently to give it a good clean out and see what needs to be done. The piston is seized solid, I couldn't get it to budge, so I tried some WD40 :whoops: I know not to do that now Looks like a whole heap of dirt, dust and rust has gotten between the piston and seat. Any tips for freeing it up? What will need to be replaced? Is it even worth doing or should I just look at setting up a custom brake setup? Thanks for any help.

I usually do what you've done (remove the round clip & take off the rubber boot), let the WD soak in whilst I crack a beer & have a couple of swigs .Then clap the caliper into a vise & get a decent set of visegrips onto the piston that you can get at & wriggle it whilst pulling & they usually free up & come out . Sometimes they just need cleaning & polishing up on the inside & sometimes they need new parts & sometimes they are for the bin ,it just depends on the level of neglect/abuse .Cheers Dave.
