Hi Riders, Back when the SR was just being born in 1978, I stopped by the local dealer and got this brochure, I had an RD-350 and was a student with no money for the SR. I stored the brochure away. Last night while moving some books around I found it. Today during lunch I got my rudimentary copy stand out and worked hard to get the images, glare and all. I have spent many a minute imagining myself riding on that coast road. In the mid-80s I got my first thumper and now own 3 of them. None of them fancy, just thumps. www.veloliner.com/sr500/Enjoy |

I have one of those laying around somewhere. Came with mine when I bought it 3 years ago.

There's a guy here in the ACT who has just bought a grey import E model from the US...it's a red one... Here's the Aus E model brochure...or part of it anyway...  SR  |

Yep black with gold lettering & decals,heaps of chrome ,alloy engine & being a Yamaha certainly did it for me when I was 18 ! (I resisted the temptation for a kwaka 9) If I'd got one of them I wouldn't be here now! Cheers Dave.

It's not just straight black either, it has a find gold metallic running throughout...hard colour to match I imagine. The later (much) black SRs seem have a fine blue metallic in them...neither is obvious until you get them in direct sunlight...both look good. SR |

Yes Stew that black with gold speck had me polishing my brand new 79 every second day.

Thanks for the copy of the Aus brochure.
Both of my 78s are red with gold pinstriping. I am going to paint the less stock one black.
