Some things that take me away from working on the bike are a real chore and some things are not, here are a couple that I love to do. Last week taking my 5yr old for his first ride on his first 2 wheel bike(and it's a Yamaha). Fantastic feeling to find that he loves it as much as his dad does and that he's not to bad at it either. Endurance racing on the Mountain bike, this was in AU biggest 24hr race high above the capital Canberra at about 8pm. Please feel free to share your other hobbies/distractions. Cheers Rich

Nice work Rich
Sadly my homebrewing hobby has been dormant for a while, but that is good fun - and a great excuse to drink the beer you make (only because you need the bottles back for the next batch)
The home keg system was a pearler too

Nice work getting the lad out on a bike RD. I am a Motorcycling Australia coach and love coaching the littlie on bikes way more than the usually obnoxious "know more than you" teenage want too be racers that come to our club coaching days. Give him a few years and he will want to ride your SR, just stick with the "you can ride it when you can start it" philosophy. I relented a while back and let my daughter (aged 23) ride my '76 TT500 after having to start it for her, and within half an hour she had looped it doing a wheelie, breaking both mudguards and bending a set of original/unabtainable handlebars.

Well, the bars might be unobtainable, but I'll wager she'll never forget the experience and may have learned a valuable lesson to boot! These kinds of incidents can spawn some real wisdom sometimes.

I ended up in a heap of trouble, the wife was watching and she though that I showed more concern for my TT than I did for "her baby". And yes, the daughter did learn a valuble lesson, that she is not ridding my TT500 ever again!

Hehe, well, I don't have 40 bikes, or a wife, or a daughter....does "I can imagine the dilemma" still count??

Thanks Guys Milky I love to homebrew as well and just bottled a batch of amber ale last week, making it is not the problem just the waiting to drink it that hurts. CJ the young bloke is booked in to do a kickstart 2 day course next month, which gives me some time to find boots and body armour etc. He has been saying that the SR is his since he was about 3.5. Cheers Rich

I like to resize/crop photos when I can. (hint ;D) Seriously though, I do like to dabble in photography as well as pluck the ole geetar from time to time. I have also, though not anymore, messed about with R/C planes, cars, & boats with both electric and glow engines. I still have quite a bit of that stuff laying around.

There is always a spare room here Curly and it might give me a excuse to kick out my mother in law who loves having us home so much that she's forever staying over. Now that I have room again I will be churning out a decent supply of brew. Maybe you should stay over on your way to Bethanga this year. Cheers Rich

Well, aside from being on the computer too much... cough, cough LOL ;D , there are a couple of things I enjoy aside from motorcycling. As some of you have seen me post before, I like to get out to the ice shack in the winter. More for the food and the fresh air than actually catching fish! Here is a pic from the end of last winter: The atv sitting there comes out now and then. I also dabble a little in guitars. I keep an even ten guitars hidden around the house as well as four amps... Fender is by far my favorite brand. Although, I have a few Epiphone, Yamaha and Gibson thrown in for good measure. Here's just a couple: Another: G Man

Thanks for the invite Rich not sure what I'm doing about Bethanga! I have my next black belt grading the following weekend and a man of my advancing years can't afford to get injuried/drunk so close to the grading. Will definitely take you up on the offer of a sleepover.

But Curly I have seen your steely resolve and willpower in action, i'm positive that if you set your mind to it not a drop would pass your lips. Cheers

Epi LP Standard Plus Top. The only changes I have made have been larger knobs and a roller bridge.
