Hi to all. I have a 95 sr 400 that made the trip back with me from Japan. have pulled the OEM air filter and added K and N air filter and crank case filter and super trapp pipe. Was looking at deus site and saw a filter kit and they mention about an exhaust emission blanking plate that covers standard smog port. Would be great if anyone could explain this to me, wondering if I need to get one. Don't know much about the workings of sr's but dig em. Thanks again.

To get the SR through emissions testing the rerouted some of the exhaust gas back through the air filter... or something like that.
You'll see a line that comes out from underneath the bottom of the front of the cylinder head. If you unscrew the two hex bolts that run into there, there's an open gap. The "Blanking plate" is just a peice of machined steel or alloy with two holes in it that bolts straight over the hole that's left.
