Hi there Mark here, from New Zealand. First of all, excellent Forum! I've been a Yamaha single owner since 1979, when I bought my first TT500, since then I have had a 500 of some description in the shed or garage (not always a runner). At present I have 4. My VMX TT500 (actually using some components from my original TT! An SR500G (owned by me 1981- 88 repurchased a couple of years back after sitting outside for a good 12 months or so, was very sad but is getting better. New Zealand is not the place to keep bikes outside, removing the swing arm bolt was no fun...), An SR500E (also another outside storage job -was intended as a spares bike for the G, but looking good as a cafe racer project. And Finally an XT500D (you guessed it- stored in the outdoors as well)! At least the XT came apart easily and is soon to be off to the painters. It never fails to amaze me how popular these bikes are, both on the VMX scene (and I would not have believed that after all the doubts on my sanity attempting to ride Motocross on a TT back in the late 70s early 80s, and as a road bike too.

Cheers Bro welcome aboard ! Great collection ,poor old bikes people should show them more respect than to leave them to die outside ! It certainly sounds like the disease/addiction has got as far as NZ too ,cheers Dave.
