hi - the guy pulling my forks down says i need an 'internal fork bush" for my sr500H. i'm also told there are none in NZ. anyone know a supplier that has them? can't see them on mikesXS

Ken, 1978-81 SR500's sold in the states did not have internal bushes -- at least none that I can find on the microfiche ( www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx ). If you have a later SR and they changed the forks, maybe your mechanic will give you the part number for the bush and you can try to find what other models it was used on and work from there. Badcat Those bushes can be replaced, please go back thru old threads and look out for my posting. I have done the job, the part numbers are from an XS400 from memory (not too good!) If no luck please reply and I will get the part number for you.

thanks for that. i think my mechanic has passed the forks on to a very capable suspension engineer - and he is making a new bush. but thanks anyway - i appreciate your help!
