NICE BIKES! I particularly like the old 2 valve GS Wes Cooley replica. I have been looking for awhile for a 2 valve GS750 to do a similar thing to. Just haven't found the right one yet. Sweet looking KZ400 too. Here's a link to pics of my SR build. www.flickr.com/search/people/?q=solo2racr Click on the little face. Looks like we share alot of the same ideas as to what a bike should look like.

Thanks Solo2racer. The Wes Cooley GS was fun, but expensive. I learned a lot of lessons from that one. I plan to stay with singles and twins from here on out. The simplicity. Your black sr project is very well done. I like the mono conversion and the electronics in the tail section. What kind of power are you making w/ that motor? Curious, would like to be able to pull a front wheel when I'm done w/ mine. Do you have specs listed or the project details in the project forum.? I think I'm going to go with a flat track look w/ the SR. I just found my engine's spark after a week long search. Knock on wood, but it seems the expensive stuff is working for now. I will start a project thread in the right forum as work gets going.

I would bet the Keihin CR smoothbores cost as much as what you paid for the bike. Your black sr project is very well done. I like the mono conversion and the electronics in the tail section. Thanks you. I do have a full spec sheet so I don't have to try to remember what parts came from what bike. I have never posted it anywhere on the web though. It will pull the front wheel up with no clutching as it revs out 1st gear. As soon as I get the jetting sorted, it will be better and may pull 2nd. Welcome to the site ! Love your work ! Same , I got back into bikes about 10 years ago after a 10 year absence by picking up cheap & resurecting from the dead 1980s bikes.(1981 GPz1100,1982 550 Katana,1989 GPx 250) All a bit of fun & yeah those 4 pots can be a bit pricy to rebuild the engines? They do look great though! Then I got a 82 SR500 & never looked back ,I'm now into 70s bikes too with 3 78s (Es) & a 1980 (G) . 1 of the 78s is a parts bike but I nearly have enough parts to do that one too ! It just goes on & on a bit like me really ! Cheers Dave.
