Hello everyone. I found this site while researching ways to fix my 1978 SR. I love this site and all the information and input available. I had some difficulty at first signing on--mainly not getting an activation key--but I am finally here. 
My SR problem seems to be the CDI box. I found the hyperpak in NZ and will be ordering soon. I thought I was the only one who had such a great love for the SR 500 and it is wonderful to be able to share thoughts and insights about what makes this such a magical motorcycle. My 78 is 99% stock with just an overhead oiler, braided brake lines and cam chain adjustment cover being the extent of my modifications. I have had the bike for 7+ years and am a little embarrased to say it has under 10K miles on it. (Total miles). Many excuses get in the way of riding (kids...). I even thought about selling it but this site has renewed my enthusiasm. I look forward to chatting with fellow members.
