Hi Cliff, maybe you know this but you can get a hyperpak cdi from N.Z. I replaced mine with one of these, works fine, fits straight on the original connectors, just used a couple of tiewraps to secure it [it has no fixing holes to screw it to the stock cdi position].Paid 80 g.b.p approx 18 months back and I don't think they've gone up much.Must be honest my mate aero did buy one which was faulty but that apart I've not heard of any negative feedback.

Nice one Cliff, heh heh!now let me see,£80? $160 or 30 pints of lager [pub prices] 70 litres of juice for the bike.Must admit i've never had cdi problems,my original cdi works fine and is currently in the 'good' spares bin, reckon i swapped it out of curiosity but no noticeable difference, you must be unlucky!Regarding the tm36 I here they can be a pain to dial in,whats the improvement reckoned to be? better throttle response?I,m running a vm34 aftermarket carb [wish I had gone for the 36vm],O.K perhaps not the ultimate in technology and rubbished by some on the forum but its dead simple, reliable, easy to tinker with and performs well across the range, each to their own.Going back to cdi's,I suppose when they start to lose their ability to advance properly you quickly end up with one knackered engine!Did the XT's points and mechanical advance really need messing with?Goodluck.

Interesting Cliff,if you get that carb dialled in and perform wheelies I'll consider one myself, and if you can put me into one at similar money I'll buy you a big drink as well! Everywhere I've seen them they are big bucks.Keep me updated on your progress.
