Where the F**K are we and whats with the dirt roads. This seemed to be the motto for the day. We had an interesting day all three of us, Wizz on the blade, Milko on the boxer and I on the not as slow(quicker) & more economical XT. We started at maccas McGrath's Hill after the others had enjoyed the culinary delights of the world famous scottish restaurant, with Wizz taking the lead out along the putty rd then turning west till we came out at kurrajong on the bell,s line heading for Lithgow. We then stopped a Bilpin while I picked up a clutch. After a stuff up( It's all my fault) we regrouped at Lithgow and headed for Hartley then Oberon. It got interesting heading for Tarana for lunch on the way hitting our first bit of dirt( it used to be tar, honest) It was only 10k's of dirt with a little tease section of tar in the middle( all of 500 mt r's) just enough so you thought the dirt was finished. After sharing our counter lunch's with flies we headed for Victoria pass. On this run we hit our second bit of dirt( you should have turn right a Rydal Rick) and ended up 15km west of lithgow on the Great western hwy. We flicked Vic pass and headed back along the bells line. With storm clouds threating we made the Windsor Hotel for an enjoyable schooner. From there with very dirty bikes & tired bodies we headed for home. Curly (I know where I am! where the F**k are you?)

If I had of checked the forums on Friday night. Dirt must have been fun on the Blade. The boxer should have lapped it up. Yours thought it had found it's Roots again.

You guys were right to change it to Saturday (even though that meant I couldn't join you) as it did rain on Sunday up this way.

The tar sections in the middle of dirt roads were misleading.....everyone excited, hit the gas again, up to triple digits, fairly close together, when we crest over a small hill......*@##!! (rider in front vansishes in a white dust explosion) Hit the anchors as hard as I can while I still have some bitumen left, then let it go and hope I'd washed off enough to get through the sharp bend on the deep gravel apex OR face the down hill adventure behind the three strands of barb wire. It made those burgers at Tarana taste good though That road we took by mistake was a cracker with the section like a big dipper slide, and everyone bottoming out. Good times. P.S. I think the constant use of my camel pack was alluded to as "the babies bottle" Well who was cramping up beofre Windsor??? Not Downes (i.e. me)
