All my electrics work when I hook up the battery but when I connect up the battery eliminator (and start the bike of course) I have no electrics. I searched back through some old threads and someone suggested that (with the bike running), check the volts across the negative pin to the positive pin on the eliminator and it should be approx 12 volts. I have nothing.
a. Does this indicate that the eliminator is stuffed?
b. If it is stuffed, why does the bike still run fine?
c. Does anyone in Australia sell eliminators (it took ages to come from the US last time!)?
cheers Stew

Hi, You can get battery eliminators from Deus ar Vanem...about $75 or so as I recall. The SR doesn't require a battery to run the CDI ignition system. SR

I bought a capacitor (as per details within other threads on here) from Jaycar for $10, the size of a packet of 'Lifesavers' or 'Quickeze' (depending on your age!)...six months now and still works fine...
