Anyone fit a Suzuki Water Buffalo 4LS front to brake to the SR500? Any advice or lessons learned? Thanks.

Fits fairly easily really. I did it 17 years ago after I had already modified the backing plates to fit a Honda racer...so I had to machine up some spacers to suit the SR installation. Measure the width of the gap between the fork bottoms, on the inside of the area where the axle goes through. Measure the width of the drum and backing plates where the axle goes through it complete with the brake assemblies...compare the two...from memory it's pretty close to right... I used another axle too as I recall...my mate had a wreckers in those days, so I think I sourced an axle from him to suit the Suzy wheel and axle sizing. I had to make a sleeve and silver solder it to the clamped end of the axle to bring the end of the axle back up to the SR's axle-end diameter...see pic below... Measure the axle and see what the diameter of the end is and start looking in the wreckers...I also machined up a steel sleeve to fit nicely inside the bottom of the right fork leg to suit the reduced axle diameter...down to 15mm from 17mm. The 750's brake anchor arms fit fine and I have them on mine. Use the original Suzy cables and lever assembly if you can... ...there is also a similar one available from a fairly recent model Suzy quad bike, but it doesn't have a brake light switch if you wanted it for the road. It has a slightly longer, dog-leg style lever. Here it is...Suz part # - 57300-02C00... You may need to relieve the inside of both of the lower fork lugs for the bottom disc caliper mount a little to ensure clearance for the upper brake cam lever in operation...I have kept these on the legs just in case one day I feel like changing it around again...heh, heh...you could always remove them altogether to solve the issue. Sorry that I am a bit hazy about the details of some of this...I'd need to pull it all apart to check up on the exact details...maybe someone else can fill in some gaps. SR
