The Flinders Touring Motorcycle Associations 21st Annual Paul Gianoni Memorial Toy Run was held this weekend. About 80 bikes turned up which ain't too shabby for a town of less than 20,000 people. The toys collected required a van and a tray top ute carry them all. These were donated to the Salvation Army. The run involves a trip around town then a run around the "90 mile". As its name suggests this is a run of about 90 miles. It goes through the Port Germein Gorge, a wonderful bit of road which, though rough, suits SR's perfectly. Just tight enough corners, so that the SR can give the sports bikes a run for the money. Gave my now IT490 owning mate a run for his money on my XT500. He was following me on his old RG500 Suzuki, which I've noticed he really only extends on straights, and is very cautious around corners. I was getting along pretty well, he was zooming up to catch me on the straights then falling behind on the corners. So I decided to mess with his head. While cruising along, taking it easy I might add, I waited till I was halfway round a corner and pulled out my water bottle from my jacket pocket and had a drink. ;D That's thing about old bikes, you can have more fun on them at 80 km/hr than you can have on a new bike at 180k. He steadfastly refused to comment at the next stop. heh, heh, heh Mick
