I am checking my timing with a strobe light. On a rotor with numbers instead of the "full advanced" timing scribe what number is full advance? Numbers on my rotor are 20 30 40. At 6,000 RPMs my scribe is at 35. Manual lists full advance timing at 6,000. Do I need to adjust the timing?

Full advance is 26.5 Degrees @6000. Your 8.5 degrees to advanced.

Thanks solo, one more question, The manual says that the three mounting screws for the alternator are accesible thru the apertures in the rotor. Am I missing something or this impossible. I can see the edges of three screws thru those aperatures but there is no way to actually access them. Do I need to pull off the rotor to correct timing?

It had been so long since I was in there to mess with the timing I had to pull the cover and take a look myself. Mine appears to be the same as yours. I can just see the screws. Haynes What do they know.

Hallo Emil, the screws can be loosened through the holes in the rotor.
