Other inhabitant of the shed are my 1964 Honda S600 sports car, and a 1974 SATOH S650G tractor (sold as a Bison in the US, before being bought out by Mitsubishi in 1975).
Well that what I can remember is in the shed, I did crack the 50 bike mark before I thought it was getting a bit excessive, so I have been selling off some of the collection over the last 3 years.
So; Is 32 bikes too many?

The only person that can honestly answer that is you. If I had room I'd enlarge my collection. Curly

What no CX500 ? (not that your going to admit to anyway) But a fair list none the less. I've got a mate with 20 odd bikes . He's got to move house & had to buy a couple of seatainers & deck them out so he can move them .(Quietly I was hoping to magpie off him a 83 kwaka 750 turbo or even the 750 kat would do , I did get a 36mm flatslide mikuni (new) off him though so I no complain) My list is just 3.5 now but I do have 8 surfboards cheers Dave.

There is no "too many" if you have room for them. Top list.

I forgot one!
1964 HONDA S90 Sports, 99.9% restored, just need to replace/replate a couple of bolts. Top speed of 93kph by GPS (downhill on the freeway into Adelaide just before the tunnels) on the way home from the 2005 Birdwood Classic. I will even go as far as saying it is more fun than the SR, I can "ride it like I stole it", and still not be in fear of speeding tickets and undue attention from the boys in blue.
There are still a lot of bike that are on the "Lotto" wish list, and an original model Honda CX500 is actually amongst them.

Shame on you Col you even addmit to wanting one . Now I know your obbsessed & possessed but hopefully not oppressed . I just tend to unload them as I get bored with them(real truth is my wifes 3-4 bike only policy) its the only way for me + it saves rego costs . I also don't have to expand my shed either . I've actually sold 6 bikes in the last 2 years but no regrets as I'm real happy with the ones I've got & 2 are going & you can only really ride 1 at a time & it does keep the confusion factor down a bit as to the choice of what to ride ? Cheers Dave.

Sorry Dave, its a bit like the ugly girl syndrome with the CX500, into which I will not go any further.
As to rego costs, well I only have the one bike, my stock(ish) SR on general registration, I have had a couple of my old Hondas on club/classic registration, but I havn't renewed them, but will be putting my Matchless on club rego early next year.
Over the last 3 years I have sold off over a dozen bike and given some to my brother and freinds. Most have been older bikes/classics that have interested me and I had picked up over the past 25 year hoping to oneday do-up/restore. I have come to realise that I would never have the time/money to do most of them, So have let them go to greener pastures.
As for sheds, mine 20m x 9m and if I cleaned/sorted it out properly I am not short of storage space.

Mate thats a big shed 180sq mtrs of floor space (I've got 45sq mtrs) & most of my mates recon thats big! Anyway back to the list , I just purchased a red regoed 80 SR500 yesterday off a guy in Mandurah with a spare barrel, head, valves,os piston/rings& a good master cylinder with 2 mags with all the bits . But the best bit is he's got a Kiwi mate who wants to unload his 78 SR500 unregoed as well , so I think I'll get that on Sunday . It must be raining SRs on me this week as I was only looking at getting a few bits not whole bikes but opportunity usually only knocks once & I had some cash to deal with so by Monday I'll have 2 78 SR500s 1 80 SR500 & a 82 SR500 3 are goers so I'm catching up to you Col & If I can get my Cafe` going I may win the trophy for the most SR 500s actually going (is there a trophy?) . But its going to get confusing trying to make my mind up what to keep/ride/modify/trash ay ay ay Dave.

Mate I've got SR fever all right ! I just can't stop myself now I'm on a roll ? I fixed all the niggly bits on the red 80 today( usual stuff horn,taco/speedo lamps& a split fuel pipe) this 1 starts like a beauty too . Cold - choke 1 kick hot - 1 kick fire , second starts up . I'm looking forward to picking up the black 78 tomorrow sounds like a bargain at $1500 firm with a new header pipe to boot(hell I need 1 of those) . Sounds good running over the phone & has a dent in the tank but I've got a couple of them . The missus may not even recognize me when I finally emerge . I think the challenge will be to see if I can actually make up 4 bikes ( that may be a little ambicious & still no sign of EFI happening ) but as the famous "Big Kev" once said "I'm excited" Cheers from Dave.
