When I first got my SR, I changed the clutch cable with some after market cable. It was hard to pull, and it only lasted about two months before it broke. I put the original one back on and I was shocked by how easy the pull was. I'm assuming that it must be one of those teflon lined cables.

Im having the same problem. The oem on I had in was hard and I put a new on in and it seams to be worse! I have routed it a few times and have the least amount of bends possible. Didnt help one bit. If you find a solution please share. I also just put some drag bars and Im haveing some trouble routing the stock length cables. Anyone have any pics? Thanks and good luck. Chris

Unless there is something mechanically wrong inside, it comes down to lubing the inside of the cable and the lever pivot and no tight bends.

You are able to get shorter cable from Daytona, teflon lined as the Yam ones are, that is shorter to suit clip-ons etc...same for the de-comp as well I think...Vanem have them for a reasonable price...others may as well... SR

Hi, did you adjust the clutch lever pressure point to the sign at the motor housing? If there is an more than 90° angle between cable and lever arm, the cluchforce increases unnecessaryly. Lubrication to teflon lined cables is needless. Regards Rei97
