There are a lot of DIY people on here, from machining to electrics, so does anyone have a home sandblasting unit?
I've seen some table top units for less than $200 (they may be rubbish) but since i have an air compressor already it has me curious
Anyone have one? whats good, whats bad, am I mental?
Maybe the cheap units aren't big enough for most of the parts you want to do, especially frames but seeing as some units are cheaper than some quotes I've had for various parts and tank sand blasting etc, I though they might be worth a go
Any opinions appreciated

I have a cheap table top unit and it is just that....cheap. But I have seen some very nice ones also. The worse thing about mine is that the lid leaks but, no more than I use it, it's fine. I can put every part from an SR in it but the frame. Most floor standing units I've seen wouldn't handle a frame. If I were to do a frame, I would use aircraft paint stripper, a wire brush &, emory cloth.

I think one of the hardest parts about sand-blasting, is getting all the media out of all the small holes and such. Seems that if I blast something at work, there's always glass beads falling out of it. I use a floor stand model, that would fit everything except a frame.
