Wondering if anyone here has had experience with the TDM?
They don't seem that popular in Aus, maybe because they are too much of an allrounder, but not really an off roader, too street oriented, but not a sports bike etc. A bit of a misfit. I was of this view also but.....
.....I saw the 2008 model in Black. Looked meaner. I sat on it, and the riding position felt like it was made for me at that point. Both feet on the ground, arms rested nicely.
I hear only good things about the 900 twin in it, and they're around $9,500 aud new.
Anyone here had one? If anything, the only fault was it seemed a bit too practical of a choice.....

You have good taste in bikes, onyl problem is it's a bit ugly.
From what I've read they go well, stop well and handle quite nicely.
Where's the fun in that?

Reckon they started out as 850, then became 900's? Mates got a 900, reckon he started with the 850, so if this guy goes back for seconds, can't be too bad. He likes it, no sports bike, but as Marlon says, they go well stop well go round corners good. Just a little bit short on the "X factor". Very good bike for big blokes who don't want to ride around with their belly laying on the tank and their feet tucked up under their arse. Mick

I agree, as you both say, they're a bit too sensible Though i'm sure with a 900 twin, and the newer models frames are 11kg lighter than the 850's, they can be silly enough.
Bugger it.....i'll just add it ot my always growing yam wish list

Those TDM 900's sound great. They have a very nice note to them indeed.

I'm sure a 900 twin can't be THAT boring.
I sat one at the Sydney Motorcycle show again on the weekend, after trying a number of numerous models of differnt makes, and it feels really good.
Really light just switching it side to side (stationary) feels more like a 400 than a 900.....
Pricing might be the key, had TBA on the spec sheet.
Must stop looking at new bikes!

Look'n at new bikes is fine! Its good to dream an imagine yourself on a fresh new bike on your favorite road scraping the pegs lining up for the next hairpin.(Whoa, whoa I've got to stop dreaming that) Just fix the bikes you've got first! Also stop look'n at that computer screen it's frying you brain.

Again, you have a point Curly
Wish you remnded me before I outlayed $100 for a horse in the Cup sweep for some glue factory horse that was 201:1 in the Cox Plate. Form guide says: never sighted in last outing, making up the no's.
Black Tom, to the knackery with you........(unless you win in ten minutes)
