Has anyone out the hid their wiring after using a small head light? I'm thinking of hiding all of the connectors under the tank. any thoughts?
Cheers!

Do you think you have enough room under your tank? I kinda doubt it.

If you really want to hide it you have to start again and make your own loom. That way you can keep the front of the bike clear of unneccesary wiring. If you use relys and LEDs you can get away with using some nice small wire for everything apart from the heap lamp itself, which need something rated at about 6-8 amps.

I did it by shortening the original harness. Cutout about 6-8", new connectors, crimped/soldered all fits in the 5" headlight now but, very tedious work.

Maxman - I am sorry to go off subject, but your seat looks like a Norton featherbed race type seat and is kinda what I am looking for. Are you happy with it's fit, etc. and do you have a source you could refer me to.
Thanks PC

not a lot of room under the tank but its a little more out of the way visually, The light I have coming is definitely not going to fit the wiring.... Heres the light I'm talking about from Vanem 4.75"

Don't they hide the wiring under the seat for those 4.75" lights?

I was told by Deus ages ago they just pushed all the wiring loom as far back under the tank as possible. There ain't much room under the seat with the battery etc.
I'll be interested to watch your progress Micky - I'm thinking of getting the same light.

ive just installed a small light as well i was told by deus to tuck it under the tank i tried that but looks a bit funni"not very clean" best way to do it is to actually rewire the whole thing.dohhh so im working on that now plus running all the wires in the clipon & frame and making it more simple, while am at it.. but it will take u a whole day . gud luck

Does shortening the wiring at all effect the resistance in a negative way? Or is the current we're talking about or the length change not enough to cause overheating/ blow anything

Not that I have done it yet, but changing the length of the looms on a bike would have no noticeable effect. I think I'll be re-routing the wiring under the tank, looks like I'll have to cut and re-solder some plugs but should work.......
