Well, I've read enough about the battery eliminators to decide that it's how I want to do things with my SR. The old battery is done anyway, and why not free up some space and weight??
Here's my question - where do you guys put the stuff that was in there? As of right now, I don't have sidecovers. I don't know that I want them, as I kinda like the look without having anything there. I'll have to get my seat on and see if I change my mind, I guess, but the battery holder that was in there is trashed and I don't have any problem seeing it go. But where do I mount the rest of the stuff that lives on that battery box?? The silver-ish box looks like a heat sink, so I would think it would need to get some air, and the other black box is kinda small..
Where do you guys tuck these?? I saw a pic in the battery eliminator thread where they were mounted to the underside of the seat - is this doable on the stock seat, or is that a custom sort of thing?? Any pics of where your stuff is bolted down would be greatly appreciated!!

Cool guys - thanks for the pics!! I have access to some metal and a shop to cut and weld, so that wouldn't be too bad..
The heat sink - how hot does that get?? It looks like it's a good idea to have it out where it can get some air, just going by the size and comparing it to my other experience with heat sinks..

Here's how I did mine some years ago...used the holes through the lugs for the sidecovers for the attaching bolts...works well. I have the battery eliminator mounted up beneath the seat hump... SR

I was doing about 75mph the other day, and my left side cover blew off. I was able to retrieve it, but it was scratched to Hades and the little c-shaped tab broke off. Suddenly the naked look is quite appealing.

Tell me about it!! I see them come up on ebay every now and then and I consider them, but once they break $50 or so, the naked look rolls back around!!
