Glad to have found this site, I have 2 SRs an 80 and an 81. My 80 has only 2000 miles on it while the 81 has seen more use. I am planning on turning the 81 into a cafe racer. So far I have a motor with a hi comp piston and a white bros cam. I have a question...anyone powdercoated an SR frame? I have been wondering if the high temperatures would cause any oil left in the frame to burn and leave an deposit that would then get into the engine. Any thoughts.

Hi, Welcome to the forum...good to see more SRs, especially cafe racers Plenty of people have powdercoated their frames and no problems I've heard of...make sure that you seal it well though and don't don't allow any abrasive, ie. sand or glass to get into the oil tank if it's being blasted first. Thanks. That's pretty much what I was thinking but I just wanted to run it by some other people before I act.
