I have been wanting to go to the clean, stripped down central area on my SR 500 but I do not want to go to a battery eliminator to get to such a look as I want lights if the bike kills.
I am wondering if any of you may have tried using something like a gel cell that can be mounted at any angle. Also would you know if there are smaller gel cell or other type or batteries that could be more or less hidden away and would not require the battery box. What problems might I run across in using this type of setup

Looks Interesting - I am wondering if they would ship to the US. Also I would like to know if there is a special charger requirement or if it is plug and play.

That's really cool. I wonder if the pic is actual size? I don't see why it couldn't replace the stock battery.

I have been using two 6volt gel cells for a few years now. I have yet to have any problems. I have the two of them and the rest of the electrics mounted between the frame rails under the rear of the seat.

On the two six volt series you have pictured I am wondering if you have the model number, etc on the batteries you use.

I'm sure you will find other manufacturers than this particular brand that will have the same thing. The ones that I have are from Japan Storage Battery Co. LTD. with the model name Portalac. Their number is PE6V4.5 which translates into a 6 volt cell with a capacity of 4.5 amps/hours. The physical dimensions of it are 3-15/16" (100mm) tall, 2-3/4" (70mm) wide and, 1-13/16" (46mm) deep. Mine are laying side by side in the photo. Hope this helps.
