Being limited to just 2 years of disc ('78-'79) and 2 years of drum ('80-'81) brakes here in the U.S. , what did the SR's come with after that outside the U.S.? I'm trying to decide the best way to do the rear brakes on rearsets. Either integrate some of the stock components (pivot and master cyl./pullrod) or to go away from the stock setup all together.
Thanks

For the german market SRs always came with drum brakes on the rear.

The drums are the same as the XT/TT hubs. the only difference is the XT hubs have a cush drive in 'em and the TT ones are rubber free. These are the same hubs still being put onto the SR400s in Japan. (just not painted black) Here in the states, you can get the spokes for the XT hubs from Buchanans -they already have the specs on file for bending them properly for whatever rim your using. And I really like the look of spoked wheels on a bike. For producing your rearsets, It's so hard to try to go past the pivot since there are multiple possible assemblies after the splined pivot.
