A questions for those that use a Supertrapp muffler. How many discs do you use? I know there will be some variables here as a stock engine wouldn't need as many as a modded engine. Just getting an idea as to how many I need.

12 discs. 4inch dia. Stock carb with Minton mods,1 3/4" OD Thumperstuff header,K&N filter in stock airbox wiith big holes cut in cover #20 pilot,#330 main,needle in 2nd richest position. The internals are stock.

I used to use 18 disc on the small Supertrapps that I used to have fitted to my cafe' racer and the same on one of my TT500s. Won't say it was anywere near quite.

I thought I had 9 at one time, but it turns out that the 6th one was a block off plate, so it was only breathing through 5. After I found this out I put the block off plate at the end and it made it a totally different bike after 4.5k. K&N replacement filter and Supertrapp are the only mods.

Sounds like the 16 I have in it is about right. 38mm Mikuni, ported head, 540 Wiseco, stock (for now) cam.

I purchased an early Supertrap (3" ?) from White Bros. long ago, it came with instructions for the TT500. 8-12 disc. I ultimately ran 12, but to be honest could not feel any difference between 8 and 12.

I got my newer SR running today. It has a supertrap 3" megaphone. I tried it with 8 disks as it came from the previous owner. I removed the disk plate and disks. Much better power but is loud.
I want this bike to be my rowdy bike and will leave it with the megaphone open at the back so I can hear the thumps.
My engine is stock internals with a mikuni aftermarket carb. I didnt measure the venturi but the flange for air filter is 60 mm. It has a 330 Main jet and a K&N sock filter. No airbox.
