Last week I went to Gratten raceway near Grand Rapids, MI and watched the classic/vintage ahrma racing. OMG you can't deny the chill sent down your spine from all of those open pipes and hopped up engines growling in harmony I've been wanting to race for so long. Finances keep getting in the way. Inspired by the great group of guys out there, and their sweet rides, I bought a bike yesterday. It will be my track bike. A long time ago a wise old racer told me "Learn to crash a small bike before you crash a big bike." -OK that makes a ton of sense to me. So, I love singles... I don't want to race a "big" 540cc SR yet... I have a very soft spot in my heart for Italian bikes...
I'm the new owner of a 1973 Aermacchi ss350 5 speed! I'm chomping at the bit to dig into it! - the weekend can't come soon enough.

A long time ago a wise old racer told me "Learn to crash a small bike before you crash a big bike." I'll share with you one of my mentor's sage advisements " You can't win if you don't finish. Crashing is the short route to last place" I only crash during practice.... lately anyway.

We used to go to the vintage races at Summit point WV all the time... it was incredibly awesome to watch the singles races with Nortons and BSA's.
Equally as cool was the harley indian class... pretty balls out watching those guys scream to a corner - THEN - hit the HAND shifter and haul out of the bend.
