Anyone know what Speedometer ratio for my 81 SR might be? I can't seem to find this info in my manuals or online.
Thank You

I don't know, but I believe someone posted that it was the same as the XS650, so you may want to ask on that forum.

Speedometers are interchangeable on most all Yamahas of the same vintage from the '70's and '80's so whatever it is they must all be the same.

All Japanese speedometers use the same ratio.
Tachs are Yamaha/Kawi 1:5; Honda/Suzuki are 1:4.

This is great stuff guys! I'm always trying to gather this info for finding the sexy clocks for a bike. I have a bunch of Smiths stuff that is "4:1" tachs and speedos. I guess those are only good for Hondas and Suzis. Now, Are the Veglia speedos 2:1? Same for the Veglia tachs? Some of the older stuff can be re-built and re-calibrated to your application - if you have deep pockets (for the clock and for the re-calibration.)
