There seems to be a lot of SR500's in Australia along with lots of aftermarket parts available. Just out of curiosity, how many years were SR500's for sale down under? Here in Canada, they were only available in 1978/79, so they are a rare item and parts are hard to come by.

As far as I know SR500's were on sale in Australia from 1978 to 1981, but I couldnt be sure.
Stew may have a beter idea...

Yes, that's right. 1978 'E' model to 1981 'H' model.
Similar to the States I think. They stopped importing them because they weren't selling in large numbers. The ones left in the shops sold slowly after '81.
Interestingly they are now importing them again after all this time. This time they are being brought in by a bike dealer with several shops. Of course the 500 is no more so they are only 400's...still I may buy one. Parts may become easily available again due to this...at least those parts common to both.
