Thumper Stuff has a TACHOMETER BLOCKING PLUG for $4 but you could probably make one on a lathe in a few minutes.

this might be a dumb question but do they have rev limiter? i would like to run no tacho as well but would hate to get all exited and blow it up

No rev limiter on the older bikes...not sure about the late 400s though...you really don't need them...I have revved one of mine to 8,500 with no ill effect with standard valves and springs etc. A high performance one can get to near 10,000, but don't miss a gear. You need a tacho one one like this... The tacho is not that necessary on a fairly standard bike...but I still like having one there. SR

use a TT500 blanking plug , still available from dealer , is a multiple listing part -fits lots of different models
