Hey guys, Im new at this do it yourself stuff but figured it was time to learn. I just put new fork seals in and had no problem with the first one. the second one slipped in all the way to the bottom and now it wont com back out. My guess is it is twisted around. any ideas of how to free it? Thanks

I think some of your terminology is wrong. There is no way a fork seal could get to the bottom of the slider. Could you explain some more so that we may better understand what the problem is?

Sorry. The fork tube slid all the way in and is stuck.

AH!!!! That I understand. Sounds like the fork tube is bent. I would look into getting it straightened. It doesn't sound like it is to bad.
Anyway, you will need a rubber mallet or a piece of wood. Either have a friend hold the fork tube or temporarily remount it in the triple clamps and place the piece of wood on top of the slider. With a rubber hammer, you won't need the wood. What you want to do is hit the top edge of the slider with the hammer to get it to slide off the fork tube. be CAFEFULL!! You don't want to dent the fork tube if you are using the wood and a steel hammer. Nor do you want to deform the top edge of the slider. ONLY use as much force as necessary.
There is one other method that I just thought of that might work and would be safer(for the fork) to do. Just be sure you and a friend are holding BOTH the fork tube and the slider). But, you will need a air compressor to do it. Put the cap back on the top of the fork without any springs inside the tube. You may have to rig up something here depending on what side you are working on but, the idea is to pressurize the inside of the fork from the bottom. Of course the bolt will need to be removed that holds the damper rod in place if you haven't done so already. This may or may not work as I just though of it and have never tried it.

I got it, One light bonk and it came loose. I worked it back and forth a few times and it seems fine. Thank you for your response, Chris
