hi al
my bike has wm rearsets. on the right hand side, the bolts that attach the rear set to the frame pass through cylindrical rubber bushes. when i push hard on the brake pedal, the rubber appears to compress which allows the rear set assembly to pivot away from the bike until the brake pedal hits the exhaust header.
am i correct in assuming that i need to replace the rubber bushes to everything stays rigid during brake application?
any and all tips greatly appreciated.
cheers, ryan

Seems so. Perhaps the rubber bushings are in a bad condition and new ones would help. But cheaper and to my experience no problem with the vibes is to change to e.g. aluminium bushings.

Hey Mate!
That sounds a bit funny to me... The only thing i can think is getting the adjustment right on the main bar so the travel is correct, you should be able to apply full pressure before the toe end of the pedal hits the muffler. I can't see the rubber bushes having much to do with it. If i scan a pic of my WM rearsets, could you circle it in MS paint to let us know which area you're talking about specifically?

stew - exhaust is supersound header and muffler.
marlon - the rubber bushes encase the 2 bolts that old the rearset base plate to the frame of the bike. as they compress, they allow the base plate to flex away from the bike - which affects the brake adjustment.

Yes perhaps fit new rubbers or new metal bushes as Sven says...if your exhaust sticks out a bit it may also help to foul the pedal. SR
