good luck mate Riding dressed in an electric blanket isn't my cup of tea, but then I don't live in Melbourne. Maybe you should move - then you dont need a vest, and dont have to live in Victoria - win, win Didn't you just remove you battery? Will you need it for running power outtlets etc?

Didn't you just remove you battery? Will you need it for running power outtlets etc? That's a good question - I came across the article and posted it at work today - I have to read it properly to see how I go about that bit, but I assume that it will work when the bike is running, just like the lights... Opinions anybody? Maybe you should move - then you dont need a vest, and dont have to live in Victoria - win, win Yeh, Sydney's great if you like traffic jams! I was commenting just this weekend how it takes us thirty to forty minutes to fully exit Melbourne in any direction, with great rides - nationally legendary roads - beginning just that far away!! What a great city! (For the benefit of non-Australian members, we're talking about two cities: Melbourne, where the country became a nation and had it's first glorious parliment, and was at one time (gold rush) the richest developing city in the world; and Sydney, a township to the north which apparently has a concert hall.)

Oh, don't get me started on the the Sydney Vs Melbourne thing! For the record i've lived in both cities, in Suburbs roughly equivilant. (Annandale vs Richmond in vic) and Melbourne traffic is awful. Compounded by Melbourne drivers, which are by far and away the most aggresive, inconsiderate bunch of wankers I've ever shared a road with. Couple that with unmarked speed cameras that ping you for 2k's over the limit (No 10% wriggle room in Sydney) a police presence that is best described as stiffling and everybody talks about this pathetic sport called AFL. That being said, they have great motorbike parking laws (Though i never had any problems parking in the CBD in Sydney) and what roads I have ridden are brilliantly surfaced. It's also very safe around here. I've been through walks past the rougher parts of Melbourne late at night and haven't felt like i was about to get bounced like i did In guildford, Belmore, Lakemba, Auburn, Merrylands or the like. But Sydney is still a world class city, for better or worse. Melbourne is lovely, but you just can't compare them. Now, Melbourne vs Adelaide... that'd be fairer ) Phew. Got that off my chest!

But thats what its like in the wild west & we are a couple of hours behind(its a pity it cant help me with the lotto results though) .There have also been a few fatal beatings so you've got to be careful when your wondering around drunk !Cheers Dave.

If you're looking for a heated grip setup, check out what's available for snowmobiles. I have heated grips on mine that become too hot, even through a thick set of gloves at 0 deg. F. They do have a switch so I can turn them down a little.

Not trying to start an argument here, just offering a suggestion Lets all agree that our nations capital, Canberra, comes last! (where's Stew???) I like the look of these, because you can easily get rid of them in summer, www.webbikeworld.com/r3/heated-motorcycle-grips/I get all "manly" and refuse to put heated grips on. I'll be the guy looking really tough sitting in the corner clutching a cup of tea for dear life

Hey Matt,
How and what did you do to your jeans?
Please post pic or link?
By the way, now on the subject of Cities, I live in Brisbane. Great riding weather, decent roads, hillbilly drivers and absolute traffic chaos in peek times. In between peak and weekends are perfect for a ride.
The greatest thing here is Qride ( though a bit dodgy for some) a one day competency based training day and an open bike licence from your learners. Apparently it finishes at the end of June then a one day course gets you a restricted licence to ride up to 250s.
