Sven was right. I kinda figured he would be. The 1/8" aluminum for the chain guard/roller is to thin. I took the template that I had and modified it some and came up with this. I kept the top part as 1/8" aluminum and changed the side piece to 1/4". The red dots show where the edge of the 1/4" piece is behind the top piece. I would have made the whole thing out of 1/4" but, it would have been to hard to bend at the top. I'm quite sure that the 1/4" will not bend at the bottom from the chain roller now. Not quite as elegant as the first but much more functional. You could even use it without the top piece. Of course all this means that I started and rode it for the first time today. ;D The only other thing that needs to be adjusted is the number of discs and the end cap with the hole in the Supertrapp. But I knew that going in. I think I may need to drop the pilot jet down one more size. I changed the slide from a 3.5 to a 2.5 and dropped the pilot down from a 50 to a 35. After adjusting the air screw, it seems like I could go down to a 30 or maybe even a 25. That will get sorted tomorrow. As will getting the insurance and tag for it.

Update. After 2 1/2 months and about 500 mile, I can absolutely say that I LOVE this chassis over the stock chassis. Still getting the jetting sorted but it is very close. With the old chassis, it was not very confidence inspiring in the corners with the weight and the wheel size. I would guess this was due to a higher C/G than what I was use to (read RD350). Now it's almost like the bike is hardwired to my brain. Whatever I want it to do it seems like it will with ease. I would put it up against ANY bike of a similar vintage as far as handling goes. And having worked in a independent repair shop for 5 years from '82-'87, I got to ride just about everything from Z-50 Hondas to V-MAX Yamahas. Even though I don't ride as hard as I use to (no more knee dragging heroics......close though) I feel it is one of the best handling bikes I have ever ridden. All it needs now is a good cam and I'll be happy as a pig rolling around in $%!# ;D
