I have access to a stock sr and a rough old xt. I cannot for the life of me decide what to do with em. After watching "On Any Sunday" in its entirety on youtube the other day, the idea of a classic traily/flat tracker seems to be the way i'll go with the xt. Here is the bike im gonna base it on vintagebike.co.uk/Bike%20Directories/BSA%20Bikes/pages/BSA%20B25.htmI like it cos it still has a touch of the cafe racer to it. Ive been in touch with a flat tracker bloke in the states who sells modified radian rear ends with three shock mount holes for 300us. But I might wait to see what I can get out of the stock swingarm first. If anyone can point me in the direction of any parts (tanks, front mudguards) that will help me achieve this look id be appreciative. I can take tanks with me to school and modify em (good thing about having a welding teacher at trade school that is an old school bike nut, when I told him I was into bikes, him and another teacher in unison asked me "which bikes?" They seemed a bit disappointed when I didnt say Indians... I'm sorry to all the purists out there but I must say I cannot stand the look of the standard SR or xt tanks, they all slant a bit too much, I much prefer that kinda flat square look. Like the honda CB tanks. Anyway ideas on the back of a used twenty thanks.

Hi, The best thing about these bikes is that they are what you want them to be...great machines. That looked like some type of twin-cam modification of the BSA single. There used to be similar twin-cam mods done here in Aus by a guy named Neil Street to Jawa singles in speedway. They used to fly. That pipe looks a little bitey though...have you got a steel plated backside...heh,heh...it's only pain... The Japanese do lots of tanks of similar style to this...tracker style stuff...look at some of these...might give you ideas... SR

Yeah the pipe is definitely one part of the bike I wont be copying...
Im gonna make up a few pipes to see what shapes I can come up with, might even see if I can sell a few to help fund the build.
Ive got an expansion chamber for a smallframe vespa in kit form (laser cut in flat with all the add ons to make the chamber) which I reckon will be 50 times harder to make than just buying some pipe, chucking it through a bender and slapping a can on the end, piece of piss.

Nice tank Well the rear guard doesn't look much differnt to a chopped tril bike plastic, or any number of rear guards The front looks similar to an RD guard, so try scouring wreckers or repros if yuo want that look For the rest, well the seat looks like it could be half a leg of cricket pads, (might need that steel coated backside) and the number plate looks like the back side of a L plate with a number written in electrical tape

Thank I was milkman, I was wondering where the front mudguard mighta come from. The think I like about this bike is that it looks pretty simple to recreate.
