I know what NADA guides says it worth, but what is a pristene 1979 SR500 with 3700 miles, complete (still has stock tires and even the tool kit), and FULLY serviced worth?
The '78 I have was a project bike ($175), and I am converting it to a street tracker. But I stumbled across a beautiful '79 for $1650. I do plan on riding it, but won't buy it unless I could sell it for a profit if I get tired of it.
THANKS!

Go down to the eBay listing and look at the 1980 that was sold last week. $2001.05 is what it went for. Look at the pic on the ad. If the one your looking at is as good, I'd jump on it. ;D

With that little amount of miles and after what I've seen SR's go for on ebay, I wouldn't take anything less than $2200 for it. Are you saying that you found this pristine '79 for $1650? I would jump on it! I paid $1200 for my '78 with 36,000 on it. Sure doesn't look like it has that many miles on it, though.

That was my point, if a bike with 10000 miles can bring $2000.00 I think one that is the same BUT with 3700 miles on it would be a great deal at $1650.
