Does this help? regards Sven Sven - I have cut what looks to be the same location. It was a while ago. My frame has been at the powder coaters for a little over 3 weeks! My wife bought me a roll around platform for my dirt bikes a year or so ago. It attaches the bike to the platfrom at the foot pegs and has a hydraulic jack to lift the bike (tires) 18" off the floor. No more bending over and it has wheels to roll it around!

Before I take my bare frame down for powder coating, I want to cut the frame to fit the XR tail section that I am getting from hotwings. I don't have the tail yet, so I can't measure. Do any of you know how far back from the shock mount to cut? Thanks! Hello, I have the framework briefly behind the originals seat fastening spots shortened... that have the advantage, which I can use this further! Regards Pit. That is exactly where I cut my frame. I used thick metal bands (4-5mm) to make the seat bracket. I attached it to the frame in the same place you did, but secured my attachement bolts under the seat that sits on top of the tail section. I just recessed the seat pan to not interfere with the heads of the bolts. I am hoping I can find furniture plugs to put into the back of the frame. I did not fill mine prior to taking it to the powder coaters. Thanks for the photo!
