i really like the look of no front fender, but i will need one to pass blue slip. having such a fat tyre on the front means that extention brackets needed to be made to give the fender tyre clearance. the pipe was a straight through with a very small baffel at the tip.. even with it in though it was LOUD.. i loved it, but the look on peoples faces as i passed them would suggest otherwise. No way would you get that through rego. I still have both the orighinal exhaust system and the one in these pics.. willing to sell them if anyone is intrested I live in sydney.. bought it from the guy down in Tassi, sight unseen, took the chance and it was worth it!

Love what you've done with it, love how it started too, both very different styles. What size are the wheels you're running there? Are they both 18"? I'm doing up my XT500 for more street use as I have all the bits to build a TT500 for the dirt. So I have been looking at what size wheel to run on the front, I will leave the rear as is. I'm thinking of just getting a used front rim and lacing it to one of the XT or TT hubs that I have laying around, not the best for braking but my budget isn't huge. I've checked out those Firestones before and love the look, I can't imagine they're very good in the handling department though, but I've got other bikes for that.

i'm running 18" rims front and back, though many of the 'brat style' sr's out there are running 18" back 19" front and they look amazing

I think I'll go with the 18" option. What width is the front, is it the same as the rear? I'm gonna go searching the wreckers next weekend for a rim. Wish I could afford those drums of yours though! Wooee!

Hey there,
I like the exhaust in the first and second pic. Will it accomidate a passenger? Email me with details and price. I'm in San Jose, CA if you're willing to ship, and if you accept paypal.

Stew, it seem as though the engine has had a bit of work done on it before it came into my hands. If its not too much trouble, would it be possible to find out from Paul what modifications he may have done, as i'm prettty sure that he was the last person to pull the engine apart?? Thanks in advance..

Paul here, the red bike was mine. If you send me you email, i'll forward you the info on the engine. But basically, Wiseco, 2mm over. was flat top but compression was the enemy and I blew a barrel apart so had it reshaped and comp. back to around 10.5. Late model valves, rockers, porsche adjusters, one of Carl's 'nice' cams. Life repeats itself, I also binned it before I rebuilt it to what my idea of what I wanted. I love what's been done to it, keep up the good work

Certainly looks interesting - it'd be a handy inner-city runabout, that's for sure!

Incredible bit of work you've done. I truly enjoy watching a bike progress and all the different takes on a theme that are available. Great job!
